Welcome to WWW Wednesday! This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at Should be Reading and revived here on Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses. Please, take some time to visit the other participants and see what others are reading. So, let’s get to it!

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Hold HandsCurrently reading:  I almost hit the middle of Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell. So close. I might have to return it soon so I’m hoping I can renew it without losing it this time.
Oh hold with I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai. Stand by in case I lose Cloud Atlas.
Half way with The Invisible Bridge by Julie Orringer. I’m liking it, but still not 100% bought into the main character. You would think with such a long book I would be by now, but no such luck.
I’m on a mission to finish The Museum of Extraordinary Things by Alice Hoffman. The action was really slow to start and now that I’m over half way, I can finally see where this is going. I hope it picks up a bit more and I can get on with it.
I started a new eAudio: Close Your Eyes, Hold Hands by Chris Bohjalian. It’s his first YA and it’s not the kind of YA I’m used it. It’s very ‘raw,’ which makes sense coming from an author who normally writes for adults. I’m liking it so far. Bohjalian’s daughter narrates the audio. She’s a trained actress and does a great job.

MockingjayRecently finished: Two! Two whole books, both audio. The first is Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins. It was nice to refresh this one in my mind. I remembered the major actions, but not the details. It’s going to be hard to wait for November to get here! I also finished Andy Weir. This book was really great. I highly recommend it for sci-fi or adventure fans. The narrator has a strong voice so it’s great for any writers struggling with that as well.

One book review up for you all to enjoy as well, Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford. I really liked this one and hope you all do, too.

WidowReading Next: I got the copy of A Widow for One Year by John Irving last week, but unfortunately that’s got to wait. First I need to read The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls for a book club. I hope I can get to these soon!

Leave a comment with your link and a comment (if you’re so inclined). Take a look at the other participant links in the comments and look at what others are reading.

Have any opinions on these choices?

Until next time, write on.

Can’t wait to see what you think of A Widow for One Year- I read A Prayer for Owen Meany last summer, but I haven’t read anything else by John Irving since then. Happy Wednesday! 🙂

I’m a big Irving fan. I’ve read about 70% of his books and I find them all fascinating. I’m really looking forward to this one because I haven’t read one of his in a while. Happy Wednesday!

I clicked on The Museum of Extraordinary Things because it sounded intrigued, then googled the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire, and now I’ve completely freaked myself out about it. Which happens a lot with me when I read about industrial disasters (I had the same reaction reading about the great molasses flood recently), so I really should know better. So now I don’t know whether to read the book or not!

The scenes about the fire are pretty graphic. It’s not a big part of the book though. None of the major characters are in the accident. Hope you can enjoy it. Happy Wednesday!

I’m so glad you finished Mockingjay! I need to go back and re-read for the smaller details, too.

It was a fun re-read. I saw the parallelisms with PTSD better the second time around. Happy Wednesday!

I hate it when a book takes forever to get interesting. I’m actually really afraid of that with my own book and am trying to make sure there is some intrigue right off the bat. Hope The Museum of Extraordinary things picks up for you. Happy reading!

I hadn’t heard funny before. I’ve heard it’s good. Doesn’t seem like a funny topic so I hope it’s well written. Happy Wednesday!

I was deciding whether or not I should reread Mockingjay but decided against it. When I reread a book around the time its movie adaptaion comes out I end up comparing it to the movie too much, like all the details and stuff, rather than just enjoy the movie 😛 haha 🙂

I almost didn’t reread it for that reason! In the end, I kind of wanted to compare it because of the changes they had to make with Hoffman. We’ll see how it goes for me. Happy Wednesday!

I wonder how Close Your Eyes, Hold Hands is going to end up being. I am undecided about adding that one to my TBR even though I LOVED Midwives, so I’m looking forward to seeing what you think when you are done.

I haven’t read Midwives yet, but I have a signed copy on my shelf. I hope to read it soon. It’s been very different from Bohjalian’s other books so far. It’s his first attempt at YA. Happy Wednesday!

I read A Widow for a Year a while back. Absolutely love his writing! I hope you enjoy it. I have yet to pick up Cloud Atlas but I’ve been meaning to for so long! In fact, I actually think I have it somewhere around here on one of my bookshelves… I’ll have to look. Sooner or later I’ll get to it.

Was Mockingjay as good the second time around? I flew through the series the first time and I’ve been thinking of picking it up again. Especially before the movie comes out!

Really looking forward to some Irving. It’s been too long since I read one of his, five years or so. I want to get back to Cloud Atlas so I hope my hold comes back in soon! Mockingjay was still enjoyable the second time around, but I remembered how it ended and who lived which took a lot of the suspense out of it. Probably still worth rereading before the movie. Happy Wednesday!

I Am Malala is one I keep picking up then putting down then picking back up again. I know so many people who just LOVED it and I think she is an amazing young woman. I feel a bit guilty that I can’t just get that book finished already!
