Welcome to WWW Wednesday! This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at Should be Reading and revived here on Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses. Please, take some time to visit the other participants and see what others are reading. So, let’s get to it!
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Currently reading: Not much going on with Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell. The middle is dragging for me again. I liked the middle of the first half and I’m hoping that if I get past this section, it will improve again.
I checked ou I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai again, but I’m probably not going to read it until Cloud Atlas goes away again.
More than halfway done with The Boleyn Inheritance by Philippa Gregory. I really like it. I hoped I would because Gregory’s books about the Tudors are usually my favorite.
About halfway through Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng. I like it enough, but it’s not my favorite. It’s very character driven, which is fine, but the flashback style isn’t working for me.
Recently finished: I finally finished The Invisible Bridge by Julie Orringer! This one took me a while for a few reasons. Being interrupted a lot didn’t help, but I felt this one dragged a lot, especially at the beginning. I’ll write up a full review later, but know it won’t be glowing.
Just one book review in the last week. You can check out my thoughts on Jeannette Wall’s The Glass Castle. My book club recently met on that title so look for a book club reflection in the next few weeks.
Reading Next: Still waiting on The Silkworm by Robert Galbraith on eAudio. After so many of you told me you enjoyed it last week, I’m looking forward to this one!
I’ve got another book club selection sneaking up on me so I’ll be reading Bird Box by Josh Malerman for our October meeting. It looks like a great creepy read!
Leave a comment with your link and a comment (if you’re so inclined). Take a look at the other participant links in the comments and look at what others are reading.
Have any opinions on these choices?
Until next time, write on.
You can follow me on Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram. I’m available via email at SamAStevensWriter@gmail.com. And as always, feel free to leave a comment!
What a shame that the flashbacks aren’t working for you in Everything I Never Told You – here is my selection for this week https://cleopatralovesbooks.wordpress.com/2015/09/09/this-week-in-books-september-9/

I like Philippa Gregory’s books too – but haven’t read this one. I must be one of the few people who couldn’t get on with The Silkworm – it was just too graphic for me. I hope you like it more than I did.

If you enjoy Gregory, the BBC did a great adaption of the White Queen about a year ago. Worth checking out.

I’m ashamed to say I haven’t seen the adaptation of ‘The Other Boleyn Girl,’ let alone a mini-series! I’m so bad at keeping up on adaptations. Happy Wednesday!

Always in awe of how many books you have on the go at once. Am still undecided whether I want to try Cloud Atlas; I noticed that the movie is on Amazon Prime so may just watch it instead (I know, I know, bad book blogger!!) 🙂

I really enjoyed The Boleyn Inheritance, I enjoyed her Tudor books but I’ve read some of her other books and didn’t like them as much so I’m nervous to read any more by her.

I like her Tudor books best, too. I read a few from the Cousin’s War and a few were okay, but not as good as these. Henry VIII makes everything more interesting. Happy Wednesday!

My best friend/college roommate read all of Philippa Gregory’s books because she was fascinated with the time period and royalty. I always knew what to get her for her birthday!

Everything I Never Told you seemed really interesting. It sucks that it’s turning out to be kind of eh for you. I know how you feel with Cloud Atlas. Part of me wants to just hurry up and finish books that kind of go off and on and the other part wants to DNF for good. Good luck! Here’s my WWW Wednesday!

Unfortunately, I’m still stuck on a book from last week! I was sick over the week and had homework piling up and had to do my required reading first. But.. I am happy to say that I have read two pieces of classic novel work. Pretty awesome for me. 🙂 Happy Wednesday!

You keep saying good things about Philippa Gregory’s work, I might just have to pick some of her stuff up. Sorry to hear Cloud Atlas is dragging for you again, but I think you’ll like it again once you get to the next section.

Thanks for keeping this going! The Boleyn Inheritance was not my favorite, although I loved The Other Boleyn Girl. I didn’t realize this was a super long series though, interesting. I’m sorry you aren’t enjoying Everything I Never Told You! I liked the flashbacks, but mostly enjoyed feeling terrible for my angst in high school I definitely didn’t have it bad.

I’ve liked some of Gregory’s other books better, but this one is enjoyable so far. The flashbacks are okay, but the fact that they are longer than the present tense story makes me feel like the tenses and organization could have been different. Happy Wednesday!
