Do You Read Outside?

16 Nov

And now for the final installment about where we all pick up a book! A friend of mine recommended this one on Facebook and I can’t believe I hadn’t already thought of it. I do enjoy reading outside.

I have a porch in my apartment. I’ve got two lawn chairs and a table out there. It’s covered so no rain gets in and I’ve got two wind chimes hung up out there, too. I love spending Friday afternoon sitting out there and finishing a book. It’s one of my favorite things to do in the summer. Being in Michigan, I don’t get a very long window when the weather is conducive to this and I like to take advantage of it when I can. I’ll give up if it’s windy or gets chilly, but that porch chair is one of my favorite reading spots.

I’ve done a fair share of reading in other outdoor locations as well. I used to read outside during my lunch every day. I’ve read in parks and in college, I’d take a yoga mat outside and read there. Laying on my stomach at the beach is another favorite.

I can’t be the only one who likes to read outside. Do you read outside, Reader? What’s your favorite place?

Until next time, write on.

I used to enjoy going outside and reading on my patio, but this past summer was so hot that I couldn’t go out there, as it was only comfortable in the very early mornings.

When I visited the beach this year, I loved reading on the patio in my hotel.

I can’t read when it’s super hot, either. There’s an ideal temperature that has to be reached and not exceeded. Happy reading!

No, I am sorry to say, I do not read outside. Reading outside has never worked for me. It’s either to windy or cold or hot or there’s a blazing sun or bugs, etc.

Haha, there are a lot of factors! Sorry it hasn’t worked for you. Happy reading!

Yes as long as its not too windy and chilly, give me a cosy comfy chair and the garden and I’m there.

I love reading outside. I have a pretty nice patio that I like to sit and read on. I’m also a big fan of reading by the pool. I’m not a big outside person, so when I can read outside it helps with actually going outside.

Reading by the pool is one of my favorites. I wish pool loungers were like chiropractic tables with a home for your face and a shelf underneath to hold my book haha. Happy reading!

Oh I do like this one! I love to read outside!! In the summer I go out to tan! I read on the beach. I read in the hammock. I read on the porch. It’s my favorite of all I think! I’ve seen this “tool” to help when reading outside. It’s a plastic piece in the shape of a magazine flopped open. Then you place it on top of the book so the wind doesn’t blow it and so it doesn’t close shut on you. I would like to get one of them!

I’ve seen those, too. I tried to buy one for my mom, who’s a big outside reader, and they were sold out. I hope you can find one. Happy reading!

I’m in Scotland so you really don’t get much opportunity to read outside but I definitely will if I can. My front door is on the side of the building and faces south, so I love sitting on the step.

A couple of years ago I was on hol in the mountains in Spain and they had a hammock under a tree in the garden. Incredible views, a nice breeze, it was heaven.

I’ve loved this little series you’ve got going on! I read outside every day while waiting for the bus… although it’s getting cold here, I’m going to try and do it as long as I possibly can. I hope I didn’t jinx myself there!

I hope not. What a great way to pass the time until the bus comes. Good luck staying warm a while longer. Happy reading!

I like to read outside when I’m camping… as long as there aren’t too many mosquitoes or black flies!

I love reading by the campfire. My husband likes to build the fire and our agreement is I don’t criticize if I get to read. Happy reading!

I love the outside of reading outside and enjoy it when I can but find that the perfect weather/perfect spot outside to sit can be a bit hard to capitalise on

I definitely love reading outside, though I haven’t been doing it very often this year. May try to get a few outdoor reading sessions in before it gets too cold.

I like the idea of reading outside when the season is right for it, but I don’t actually do it all that often. If I’m already out somewhere and I’ve got some time alone I will, but I don’t go out of my way to read outside as an activity in itself.

I’m in about the same boat. I used to read outside during summer lunches each day but I’ve really gotten away from that. Happy reading!

Normally the weather in Ireland makes it difficult to read outside unless you also have a hidden agenda to ruin your book. However sometimes during the summer months I like to read out my back or in the park ☺️ I also read at the train station most days during the week on the way to college.

Yes, I’ll sit for hours outside on the patio reading away in North Dakota during the summer. I’ll be able to do that again in California when I get new furniture for the deck.

I have a screened-in porch in my apartment, too, and I love reading out there! Though I’m in the south so the window of good porch weather is a bit wider. 🙂

I love reading outside when the weather is cool, but never when it’s hot. Does sitting in my car with the AC on in front of my local bookstore count? 😉
