600 Books

17 Mar

One of the things I love about Goodreads is that it tracks how much you’ve read. I love the data about my average length, average rating, reading speeds, etc. I love data so it’s perfect for me to nerd out.

And it gives me great milestones. Recently, I added my 600th book to my Read shelf! Now, I know that about 70 of those were ones I marked as ‘Read’ when I signed up to the platform and wanted to add some of my old favorites. But that still means I’ve read over 500 books since signing up in 2012.

I know for some book bloggers, I read like a turtle. And since I love turtles, I’m OK with this. I’ve seen people with Read lists in the 1000s or more. This is a fun landmark for me and I’m excited to have made it here. I’m sure I’ll post again at 700 which will be in about 2 years or so. Imagine the celebration when I reach 1000.

Until next time, write on.

That is very impressive! And I feel you – I read a lot, but man, some of these bloggers make my head spin. But then, I have a full-time job, two kids, three cats… LOL

When you think about the rest of your life, it helps you put it in perspective. Seems like you’re still able to read a lot so kudos to you. Happy reading!

Agreed. It helps that my girls are both older now, my younger one is graduating this year. But they still live at home and therefore still need their Mama. Even when Mama thinks they can deal on their own. Hahaha!

I have to say – I’m 45 and I still call my mom sometimes with questions. On the bright side, we’re here for you and it makes us feel needed. Hahaha!

Congrats 😄!! As a fellow turtle reader, I’m also impressed (and slightly scared lol) of those people who have 1000 read books on Goodreads. Though, it’s still so much fun tracking things on Goodreads! All of the data in the end of the year reports 😩👌🏽 lol.

The data nerd in me loves it. And I convince myself those super readers are heavily reading novellas, even if it’s not true haha. Happy reading!

I’ve made great progress knocking down my TBR in recent years I’m hoping to get it even further under control soon and maintain something under 50. Happy reading!

I love the stats as well. Your post prompted me to check how many books are on my Read shelf – 898 as it happens. Now I’m fixated on finishing two more to get 900!

Hey, what does the turtle riding snail say? (It says wheeeeee.) 😅

I’m also not as fast but I also love logging books on Goodreads and to participate at the Goodreads Challenge just to see if I can do it. (I didn’t last year and the year before but I have high hopes for this year.)
And 600 books is very impressive.

The Goodreads challenge is oodles of fun. I’m looking forward to trying to git my Uber this year as well. I hope I can pace well for it. Happy reading!
