Welcome to WWW Wednesday! This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived here on Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses. Please, take some time to visit the other participants and see what others are reading. So, let’s get to it!
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Note: For users of Blogspot blogs, I’m unable to comment on your posts as a WordPress blogger unless you’ve enabled Name/URL comments. This is a known WordPress/Blogspot issue. Please consider enabling this to participate more fully in the community.
Currently reading: I got into the pool quickly this week so almost no progress on Lateral Thinking by Edward de Bono. Maybe I’ll have some ‘better luck’ in this next week.
Still nothing with Mil veces hasta siempre (Turtles All the Way Down) by John Green since I have it on hold. I’m sure I’ll get back to it soon.
I’m loving Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe. I find every excuse to put it on and listen because I find it fascinating hearing about the political force of the IRA. I’d always been told it was a terrorist group but it’s clear the soldiers for the IRA would be infuriated to hear this.
I’m eager to get through Writing Young Adult Fiction for Dummies by Deborah Halverson before it’s due to the library. I hope I can find enough time to get through it!
Recently finished: Nothing new finished this week. I was at the beginning of a lot of books last week so no real surprise.
Reading next: I’ll have to make some decisions next week about what to put here, but I’m going to hold off one more week. I think book club selections may come up soon so I may have to adjust.
Leave a comment with your link and comment (if you’re so inclined). Take a look at the other participant links in the comments and look at what others are reading.
Have any opinions on these choices?
Until next time, write on.
You can follow me on Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram. I’m available via email at SamAStevensWriter@gmail.com. And as always, feel free to leave a comment!
Have a great week deciding what to read next. Here’s MY WWW POST

Yes, the IRA is a fascinating subject. I have a book called The Border, which is about the Irish border which I want to read soon. Irish politics are very interesting!

I have mixed feelings about a book like Say Nothing. Whilst I understand it’s important to learn about all sides of historical events, I’m pretty sure the families of victims of IRA bombs would feel they WERE a terrorist group. To my mind, there are always non-violent ways to achieve political objectives, which is what happened in the end with the Peace Agreement. I’ll look forward to reading your thoughts when you’ve finished the book.

I agree that the victims could see them as a terrorist organization. This book seems to aim toward them being more of an Army and victims being civilian casualties in an armed conflict. I’m not saying I agree with that, but I wanted to be fair to the authors view. I’m looking forward to finishing the book. Happy reading!

This is where it becomes problematic because I dare say the evil people who flew planes into the World Trade Centre viewed themselves as “soldiers” in a cause not terrorists.

It’s sometimes nice to not know what you’re going to read next. I’ve been putting Pigeonhole books I’m signed up to because I know when they will start, because otherwise I’m a ‘what am I in the mood for reader’ rather than a planner. That’s why a lot of books on my TBR list stay there for a long time I’m easily distracted by the new shiny ones I’ve just got.

I tend to be systematic and follow my TBR in order which can wind up being boring when I’d rather read something I’m more interested in. Happy reading!

Happy Reading! My week is fairly similar to yours – I have a few books I’m sort of getting through but haven’t finished anything or have anything new to start right away. Oh well. Some weeks are like that.

Say Nothing sounds like a really interesting read. I’m a bit hesitant about what I’m reading next too – between book clubs, buddy reads, and bookmail I’m waiting on, I kind of don’t want to commit to anything just yet! Happy reading!

Good luck deciding on what to read next! That third “W” is always the hardest, isn’t it?
This week, I’ve got a murder mystery and a rather frothy biography.
