5 Oct

Welcome to WWW Wednesday! This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived here on Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses. Please, take some time to visit the other participants and see what others are reading. So, let’s get to it!

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Note: For users of Blogspot blogs, I’m unable to comment on your posts as a WordPress blogger unless you’ve enabled Name/URL comments. This is a known WordPress/Blogspot issue. Please consider enabling this to participate more fully in the community.

Currently reading: I haven’t been any better and getting to Soldiers’ Pay by William Faulkner. I got through a few pages at the doctor’s office, but nothing to brag about. I’m feeling like I’ll be on this one for a while.
I’ve made some respectable progress in Powering Up by Anne Doyle despite being exhausted. Work has picked up a lot for me so I’ve been a bit more tired before bed and not reading quite as much as I would like.
I started Easy Prey by Catherine Lo on Saturday. Not too far along yet, but I think this one will be pretty quick since it’s only a seven hour audiobook.

Recently finished: I wrapped up Like No Other by Una LaMarche on Saturday morning during errands. I enjoyed this one a lot more than I thought I would out of the gate and it surprised me a few times which was lovely. I’m hoping to get to my review soon. I’m giving it Four out of Five Stars.

I was also able to post my review of The 158-Pound Marriage by John Irving on Monday. This book really didn’t do it for me, unfortunately. I was kind of glad when it was over. My opinion didn’t change when I wrote my review. I gave it Two out of Five Stars.

Reading next: I don’t have a plan right now. I’m not sure if I’ll need a physical book or an audiobook next so I’ll feel that out. I doubt I’ll finish anything before next week so it shouldn’t be a problem.

Leave a comment with your link and comment (if you’re so inclined). Take a look at the other participant links in the comments and look at what others are reading.

Have any opinions on these choices?

Until next time, write on.

Thanks for turning me on to Like No Other. I’d never heard of it, and it looks promising. This week, I’m proud to say I’ve finally finished an overlong biography and made some progress on a recent-ish Grisham legal thriller that previously escaped my notice.

I hope you feel better soon. I keep falling asleep instead of reading and it is getting on my nerves!

Nice to see that you enjoyed Like No Other.

Oh dear, I’m glad it’s over is not the best way to feel about a book but it sounds as if the books currently reading (with the exception possibly of the Faulkner) will evoke a much more positive response. I do admire you for persisting with a book you’re finding problematic.

I’ve been really tired the past few weeks as well. It does get in the way of reading, doesn’t it. Even when I have some time to sit back and read, it’s hard to fully take in the words on the page. Hope you can rest up some this week. 🙂

I have been exhausted this past week from pain due to fibroids. It really gets in the way of my reading because all I want to do is rest. I’m doing my best to push through the week and hopefully rest up during the weekend. I hope you get a chance to rest up soon.

Looks like you were able to get a lot done despite working kicking up a bit. I hope things ease down for you, if possible. Happy reading!

I can’t get into audiobooks, I don’t know what it is but every time I try to listen to one I just can get as invested as I would if I were physically reading. Here is my post:
