NaNoWriMo- Day 16

16 Nov

Daily Word Count: 8,013 (highest ever!)

Total Word Count: 51,908 (YES I WON!!!!!!!!)

How I’m feeling: Let’s just say my back hurts. And my fingers hurt. But my pride is out of this world! I’m so excited. I’ve been at the mid-way madness event that NaNoWriMowtown is putting on and it’s been such a great environment to write in. Everyone here clapped for me when I hit 50K. It was awesome.

What I’ll do with the rest of my day: Well my husband is trying to have a guys night so what I hoped might be celebratory might end up being me reading alone in my apartment. Somewhat anti-climactic. I’m a little irritated, don’t worry.

Anyone out there met their goal? Who’s the closest to 50K? Let me know your count, Reader!

Until next time, write on.

NaNoWriMo- Day 15

15 Nov

Halfway done with November! Fortunately for me, I’m 87% finished!

Daily Word Count: 2,028

Total Word Count: 43,895

How I’m feeling: Eh, okay. I’m starting to get over this cold and it’s making me think that I need to go running on Monday morning which makes me realize I haven’t gone running all week which makes me remember I have a gym membership which in turn makes me think that I need to use it. Is that a run on sentence? I’ve been so lost in literature that I hadn’t noticed.

What I’ll do with the rest of my day: Our Church Group is going to the Detroit Institute of Art to look at religious symbols in the art with our priest. Make fun of me if you like, but I’m super excited.

Have you found your NaNoing self adding some reading fluff around the middle? Please don’t tell me I’m alone, Reader!

Until next time, write on.

NaNoWriMo- Day 14

14 Nov

Daily Word Count: 1,766 (my lowest single-day total yet!)

Total Word Count: 41,867

How I’m feeling: I’m hungry for whatever reason. I cannot stop eating everything in sight. My NaNo kick-off goody bag? Gone. I’m about to finish off some chips but that’s only because we’re out of cookies. Also, congested and my head is stuffy-feeling. Do you know what I mean?

What I’ll do with the rest of my day: My awesome husband suggested that we watch a movie and when I asked that we watch one I’ve already seen so I didn’t have to concentrate on it, he suggested Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1. He knows me so well. This is why I love him. So I’ll be finishing that up.

How do you write through setbacks like illness? Is tea and chocolate the best remedy? Let me know, Reader!

Until next time, write on.

NaNoWriMo- Day 13 (A Day Late!)

13 Nov

Daily Word Count: 3,740

Total Word Count: 40,101

How I’m feeling: My body’s feeling alright, but I think I’m coming down with something. My throat has a tickle and my nose is starting to run. I blame the snot-nosed 12 year olds my husband teaches who keep passing him viruses that are affecting my life. Not cool.

What I’ll do with the rest of my day: Probably not much. Go home, read, go to bed. The hubby has quizzes to grade so I’ll have a bit of time to myself.

Do you have any time for anything besides work, writing, and sleep? If so, I’m very jealous. Let me know, Reader!

Until next time, write on.

NaNoWriMo- Day 12

12 Nov

Daily Word Count: 3,175

Total Word Count: 36,361

How I’m feeling: I’m just sore again. My jaw is tight, my shoulders are sore and my eyes are clouding over. The write-in I’m at is about to end and I’ll leave as soon as SG and Nicole are ready to head out.

What I’ll do with the rest of my day: It’s almost over. I want to crawl in bed and read. That sounds so nice.

Are you feeling the physical pain of writing yet? Let me know, Reader!

Until next time, write on.

NaNoWriMo- Day 11

11 Nov

Daily Word Count: 2,089 (just barely over my 2K goal)

Total Word Count: 33,186

How I’m feeling: My back is starting to hurt from how much time I spend sitting. It’s getting bad but my chiropractor says I’m just adjusting to sitting so much. I’m not sure I want to be so well adjusted.

What I’ll do with the rest of my day: My book club meets tonight which means I’ll be writing a Book Club Reflection some time in the next week. We’re discussing Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides and if you haven’t read it, I highly recommend it.

Is writing cutting into your precious reading time? I know mine sure is. Let me know, Reader!

Until next time, write on.

NaNoWriMo- Day 10

10 Nov

Daily Word Count: 2,567 (a little below my weekend goal of 3,000)

Total Word Count: 31,097

How I’m feeling: I wrote a very climactic scene just now that I was dreading. I’ve had a very emotionally exhausting day, so this might have been a good day to write this scene. I also have to pee so I’m feel a little anxious.

What I’ll do with the rest of my day: The librarians are about to kick me out so I’ll be going home. I need to grocery shop but that’s about it. Maybe it will be a good night for a movie.

Do you feel like you’re on the same emotional roller coaster as your characters? I sure do right now. Let me know, Reader!

Until next time, write on.

NaNoWriMo- Day 9

9 Nov

Daily Word Count: 3,202

Total Word Count: 28,530

How I’m feeling: I’m getting nervous. I thought my plot was going too slowly so I sped it up and I think I may have sped it up too much. I only have two major plot points left after the huge one I’m writing now, and then probably about 5,000 words of resolution and epilogue. I have two scenes I can go back and re-write if I have to, but I don’t want to have to.

What I’ll do with the rest of my day: A good friend from high school is in town this weekend and my husband and I are going to a gathering to see him. I’m kind of really excited.

How’s the pacing going for your story? Do you think you’ll end around 50,000? Let me know, Reader!

Until next time, write on.

NaNoWriMo- Day 8

8 Nov

Daily Word Count: 3,650

Total Word Count: 25,328

How I’m feeling: Ready for a drink! I hit 25,000 today, which is a huge landmark for me. I’m sitting in a coffee shop right now with Nicole and KK and we are all hitting major landmarks for our word counts. We’re feeling pretty awesome about it.

What I’ll do with the rest of my day: Nicole and I are going to get margaritas. We’re that awesome.

Have you hit your 10,000 words yet? What about 20,000 or 25,000? Let me know, Reader!

Until next time, write on.

NaNoWriMo- Day 7

7 Nov

Daily Word Count: 2,407

Total Word Count: 21,678

How I’m feeling: Not good. I’ve been super crabby today, especialy toward my husband and I’m feeling bad. He tried really hard to make dinner and leave me alone to write and I’ve been super snappy. Maybe I need a little bit more sleep. Then happy Sam will be back.

What I’ll do with the rest of my day: Jeopardy is on in a few minutes and that’s my favorite show. If I’m lucky, The Big Bang Theory channel will come in on the bunny ears tonight. Keep your fingers crossed.

How’s it going for you? Is the stress making you a crab cake? Let me know, Reader!

Until next time, write on.
