Welcome to WWW Wednesday! This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived here on Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses. Please, take some time to visit the other participants and see what others are reading. So, let’s get to it!
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Note: For users of Blogspot blogs, I’m unable to comment on your posts as a WordPress blogger unless you’ve enabled Name/URL comments. This is a known WordPress/Blogspot issue. Please consider enabling this to participate more fully in the community.
Currently reading: I made a point of reading Becoming Madame Mao by Anchee Min during two lunches last week. I think I’m finally past the halfway point! Only a few more months to go…
I passed disk 20 of A Storm of Swords by George R.R. Martin. It’s great and I’m adoring it, but it feels like such an uphill battle with how long it is.
Nothing with A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers, still on hold.
I made good progress with Lair of Dreams by Libba Bray because of my runs this past week. I had to renew it, but there won’t be a need for a second renewal to be sure.
I have to return Writing Fiction for Dummies by Randy Ingermanson and Peter Economy today or tomorrow. I’m racing to finish it. Wish me luck!
Recently finished: Second week in a row of nothing. I hope I can break the streak soon!
I did post my review of Trevor Noah’s Born a Crime so there’s that at least! This break in finishing books has finally let me catch up on reviews.
Reading Next: I’m a bit nervous that I won’t start Wolf’s Mouth by John Smolens soon. I need to have it finished by the end of the month and I’ve been really slow with physical books lately. I’m hoping it sweeps me away and I finish it in no time!
Leave a comment with your link and comment (if you’re so inclined). Take a look at the other participant links in the comments and look at what others are reading.
Have any opinions on these choices?
Until next time, write on.

How many disc are there for George R R Martin’s books? Sounds like you are enjoying the Writing Fiction for Dummies book. I’ve ever actually read a ‘Dummies’ book. Here’s my WWW – https://whisperingstories.com/www-wednesday-reading-12th-june-2019/

This one has 39 disks! Super long. I am really enjoying the Dummies book. I used the one on Excel for work a few years ago and it was great, too. Happy reading!

Fiction for Dummies! Maybe I should look at that before November and Nanowrimo.
I’ve got a fun — but rather paranoid — thriller and a memoir this week. https://onegalsmusings.blogspot.com/2019/06/wwwwednesday.html

I’d say it’s best after nano, when you’re ready to start the second draft. I’ve gotten a lot of editing tips from it to help with a rewrite. Happy reading!

Oh wow, disk 20? That’s…a lot. I remember how it took me forever to catch up to the series but ASOIAF was a ride worth experiencing. And I hope you’ll get out of the slump with physical books soon. It’s hard especially if you’re excited to read the book but the slump’s like “NAH”.

I found Writing Fiction for Dummies really useful when I started writing. I borrowed mine from the library, too, but I soon knew I’d want to keep it to hand so I bought a secondhand copy. I’ve just (6 years later) donated it to a charity book fair. It’s been consulted many times in those years. Just a really practical guide.
