Welcome to WWW Wednesday! This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived here on Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses. Please, take some time to visit the other participants and see what others are reading. So, let’s get to it!
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Note: For users of Blogspot blogs, I’m unable to comment on your posts as a WordPress blogger unless you’ve enabled Name/URL comments. This is a known WordPress/Blogspot issue. Please consider enabling this to participate more fully in the community.
Currently reading: Not much in Rebeldes (The Outsiders) by S.E. Hinton again. We’re more set in our new routine, but I had a bit of a cold and didn’t want to read much before bed when I could close my eyes for a few extra minutes of rest.
I shold have Dollface by Renée Rosen wrapped up by next week. I’m enjoying this one and I’ve been able to keep moving through audio at a good pace.
I can tell I’m not enjoying Soldiers’ Pay by William Faulkner. I keep finding other things to do than read this when I could pick it up so it’s been slow going. I have this problem with ebooks often, where there are so many other things I could do on my phone that I don’t read. It’s caused me to drag out books I don’t enjoy as much for months and months.
Recently finished: Nothing this week but I should have something here soon!
Reading next: I’m looking forward to Vessel by Lisa A. Nichols. I should start it next week!
Leave a comment with your link and comment (if you’re so inclined). Take a look at the other participant links in the comments and look at what others are reading.
Have any opinions on these choices?
Until next time, write on.
You can follow me on Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram. I’m available via email at SamAStevensWriter@gmail.com. And as always, feel free to leave a comment!
Good luck with the books. I definitely want to know more about Dollface. Here’s MY WWW POST

Don’t force yourself to read book you don’t enjoy. Put it aside and read something else that you will! 🙂
I am finally back to reading quite a bit, which feels good.

I’ve found some good reading time this week while I fight a cold. Not a good reason, but a happy consequence. Happy reading!

The Outsiders is one of my favorite books that was required reading in grade school. I hope you get a chance to get more reading in soon!

Sorry that you’re not enjoying the Faulkner. Maybe just give it up for now and come back to it later. Or just leave it. There is isn’t enough reading time to read things that you don’t enjoy. My WWW post is here https://witchyreading.wordpress.com/2022/08/17/www-wednesday-august-17/

I want to give it till 10% before I decide if I’m ditching it. That should be pretty soon. Happy reading!

Sometimes there is too much to do on the phone than just read.

Yay for the routine. I hope you feel better soon. It’s so annoying being ill with a little one. I find that sometimes I don’t know if I’m enjoying a book. I like it when I’m reading it but then don’t rush back to it.
Have a good week

I find ebook easier to fit in as it is on my phone and I can just wip it out! Honestly he has been a nightmare at bedtime this week. He is so hyper. We just don’t know what is happening. We are trying to do more during the day to wear him out, but he then doesn’t like walking and causes a scene ergh – roll on school!!!
Happy reading in whatever time you find too 🙂

I also find that if an ebook does not excite me I can easily forget it is there – which doesn’t happy with physical books. And ebooks from the library are automatically returned in (I think) two weeks. If they are in demand, I may not be able to get them again soon.

Sounds like it’s time to DNF Faulkner, life’s to short to read a book you’re not enjoying. Especially an older long book, I sometimes push through a short book if I really hate it to write an informed review and be able to rant with a clear conscious that it didn’t get better 😊 Here’s mine: http://susanlynknits.com/2022/08/17/www-wednesday-august-17-2022/

Glad you’re enjoying Dollface. I’ve read Rosen and like her. I found Faulkner to be a slog. I thought it was because I was still in high school but you know, maybe he’s just an acquired taste that (you and) I haven’t acquired.
This week I’ve got a romance and a mystery. https://onegalsmusings.blogspot.com/2022/08/wwwwednesday_02013435384.html

I admire you for persisting with the Faulkner. By now I’d have been tempted to set it aside either temporarily or – more likely – permanently. I find I’m more ruthless about DNF’ing books than I used to be.

I like Faulkner, but am not familiar with this one. My thing is if I don’t enjoy a book, I DNF it, too little time for so many great books waiting for me!
