Welcome to WWW Wednesday! This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived here on Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses. Please, take some time to visit the other participants and see what others are reading. So, let’s get to it!
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Note: For users of Blogspot blogs, I’m unable to comment on your posts as a WordPress blogger unless you’ve enabled Name/URL comments. This is a known WordPress/Blogspot issue. Please consider enabling this to participate more fully in the community.
Currently reading: I haven’t touched Soldiers’ Pay by William Faulkner. Work was very difficult this week and I didn’t feel like starting a new habit of picking this up. It will be here for me when I’m ready, right?
I’ve been enjoying Vessel by Lisa A. Nichols. I had to commute one day which got me more listening time than I’m used to! It was a silver lining for me.
I made some OK progress in The 158-Pound Marriage by John Irving before I put it aside (see below). It’s funny when you read enough of an author that you can pick out the things they include most often. Even though this is an early novel by Irving, I still see those patterns.
My ILL for Hotel Iris by Yoko Ogawa came in! I picked it up right away and I’ve been trying to dedicate more time to it. I’ve done alright and I’m about half way through! I think this will be a quick read. It’s short and the chapters are a good length for me to read in a sitting or before bed. I’ll be optimistic and say this will be finished by next week.
Recently finished: Nothing new. BUT! I published my review of Rebeldes (The Outsiders) by S.E. Hinton on Monday. I love this book and gave it Five out of Five Stars. Please take a look if you have time!
Reading next: I’ll guess that I’ll need an audiobook next. Next up for me would be Like No Other by Una LaMarche. This was a free download through my library from 2020 so it seems as good a time as any to get around to it.
Leave a comment with your link and comment (if you’re so inclined). Take a look at the other participant links in the comments and look at what others are reading.
Have any opinions on these choices?
Until next time, write on.

Extra reading time is definitely the uipside of having to commute. All that time when you can’t possibly do anything else but read 😃😃 Here’s my WWW post for this week. https://witchyreading.wordpress.com/2022/08/30/www-wednesday-august-31/

https://witchyreading.wordpress.com/2022/08/30/www-wednesday-august-31/ That doesn’t seem to have copied properly. So have tried again. WordPress is being a bit weird this morning and not loading up normally.

I loved your review of Rebeldes Sam, it made me want to read it or watch the film again. Here’s my link for this week: https://thesecretlibrarysite.wordpress.com/2022/08/31/www-wednesdays-31-08-22-happyshrugday%f0%9f%98%89-wwwwednesdays-booktwitter-secretlibrarybookblog/

I used to be a big fan of Irving, but I’ve gone off him now. I don’t think I even want to go back to the books he wrote before, when he was relatively unknown.

He has a few that stand out more than others to be sure! I’m not sure how I’ll feel about this one. Happy reading!

I hope work gets better for you soon. Glad that you are enjoying some of your books. I keep meaning to start books, but as I am so busy during the day (in a good way being out and about for my son’s last week of summer holidays before he starts school), my evenings are short so I haven’t got round to starting anything new.
I hope that you have a good rest of the week!

I love how you manage to squeeze in reading time between other things. It’s a knack I think to read books in small chunks and remember what was happening when you left off – a knack I don’t think I have.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to read in long stretches. I just don’t have that luxury right now. Happy reading!

I don’t know that I’d want to reach for Faulkner after a rough day work, either. 😉

I do so enjoy when you read an author enough to see beneath the surface. And, while I am sorry work was hard this week, yahoo for audiobooks on the commute!
Have a great week!

I ended up having a good reading week–what a surprise for the first weeks of school. And Faulkner is definitely not going anywhere…

Hallo, Hallo everyone!
This week felt better than last week as I actually made positive progress on my readerly goals rather than just hoping things would turn round in that respect. I found a few stories which weren’t my cuppa but I found others that truly resonated with me whilst one narrator captured my praise even if the story did not capture my heart. Also, I have a lot of genres I’m re-inserting into my bookish life this week and in the week after – looking forward to hopefully visit with some of you before next Weds as well.
I understand some reads take longer than others, which is why I’m re-doing how I look at my own reading patterns — I suspect I’ll have some carry-overs into next week as well, especially with Weaver’s audiobook as its nearly 20 hours in length! I’m okay with that though, as just to read a bit each day is my goal right now and if it takes me a bit longer to finish stories, that is alright too!
Here’s my WWWWeds post.

I have had to come to terms on slower reads, too. Progress is great, no matter how much. Happy reading!

No truer words were ever said,… though sometimes I find it is harder to accept than stated. Glad I’m not alone! 🙂
