Welcome to WWW Wednesday! This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at Should be Reading and revived here on Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses. Please, take some time to visit the other participants and see what others are reading. So, let’s get to it!
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Note: For users of Blogspot blogs, I’m unable to comment on your posts as a WordPress blogger unless you’ve enabled Name/URL comments. This is a known WordPress/Blogspot issue. Please consider enabling this to participate more fully in the community.
Currently reading: I’ve just put aside Harry Potter y el misterio del príncipe (Half-Blood Prince) by J.K. Rowling so I can start a new book. I hope to get back to it soon, I was getting to the meat of it!
I’m really hoping to start back with A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin very soon! Maybe on disk, but it will take me a while to find where I am. We’ll see.
I was so embarrassed about my minimal progress with In the Garden of Beasts by Erik Larson that I made a point of reading it this week. I’m at 13% now, so much better but still behind.
I wasn’t able to finish Child 44 by Tom Rob Smith before my book club met. I was close, one disk left, but I watched the movie in order to see how it ended. I’ll still finish it, though. I’m looking forward to comparing the book and movie.
It’s not the ideal running book, but I’ve made good progress with Silver Sparrow by Tayari Jones while running this past week. I’m getting toward the end so I hope to finish it soon.
I started The Virgin Blue by Tracey Chevalier on Monday night. Not too far into it yet so no comment but I do love this author! Yes, I realize I have WAY too many books going at once. I hope to clear this list up really soon.
Recently finished: Just one. I finished the quick read of The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling and wrote a review which I posted Monday. It’s not much, but it’s something!
Reading Next: No plans again. I’m going to try to get through my massive list before I take on anything new!
Leave a comment with your link and a comment (if you’re so inclined). Take a look at the other participant links in the comments and look at what others are reading.
Have any opinions on these choices?
Until next time, write on.
You can follow me on Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram. I’m available via email at SamAStevensWriter@gmail.com. And as always, feel free to leave a comment!
I need to read Tales of Beadle the Bard. I recently discovered a copy on my partner’s bookshelves (he moved into the place I was already living in, hence our books all being separate).
Good luck trimming your currently reading list down a bit! I’m in the middle of two and have about six that I want to start all at once, so I’m going to have to do some prioritising.

Virgin Blue sounds fascinating! Historical and supernatural and romantic, all at once. Look forward to hearing how you like it.
I just opened new chick lit after finishing a mystery anthology.

I need to read Beedle the Bard and Fantastic Beasts (particularly before the film comes out). I’ll look forward to your comparison of the film and book of Child 44. The film had some rather mixed reviews, but the cast is excellent (Tom Hardy!) so I’d like to see it.
Good luck with reducing the number of books you have on the go at the moment!

I don’t leave anon comments open as I get too many spammers.
Maybe you could use (or create) your google or openID account to comment instead? I now have three separate accounts (google, wordpress and discus) so that I can comment on all the different type of blogs out there.
I’ve actually just researched Open ID and was wondering if anyone out there uses it to combine their accounts for commenting? It sounds really useful, but thought I try to get some feedback before jumping in…http://openid.net/get-an-openid/what-is-openid/
(I’ll ask this question on my blog too)

I haven’t found a way to use my Google account that I’m happy with. It wants me to create a blogspot blog which I’m not going to do. I have Disqus as well but I don’t have that option on Blogspot blogs. I don’t know anything about Open ID but I don’t want to open another account unless it becomes highly necessary.

My worry is that I won’t be able to remember the characters anymore once I start reading it again.Tsk. I was proud I have their names already memorized but after putting it down weeks ago, I’m afraid I would have to recheck my notes about the characters. Haha.

I’m down to only two books right now, but in previous weeks my Currently Reading more closely resembled yours. I don’t think I’ll want to do that again – six books is a few too many to be reading at once. Good luck getting through everything, and I hope you get back to Harry Potter soon!

Tales of the Beedle the Bard is such a weird little thing, but I love how it opened up the Wizarding World and gave some more context about growing up with magic and it’s stories and traditions (as opposed to Harry’s very muggle life)

Exactly! It was purely magical without any half-blood or muggle bias. I thought it was really cute. Happy Wednesday!

Erik Larson is ALWAYS on my to-read list yet I never seem to find the time. I read ‘Devil in the White City’ when it first came out and LOVED it, was sorta unimpressed with ‘Thunderstruck’ and never have managed to finish any of the others. SOME DAY!
