Welcome to WWW Wednesday! This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived here on Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses. Please, take some time to visit the other participants and see what others are reading. So, let’s get to it!
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Note: For users of Blogspot blogs, I’m unable to comment on your posts as a WordPress blogger unless you’ve enabled Name/URL comments. This is a known WordPress/Blogspot issue. Please consider enabling this to participate more fully in the community.
Currently reading: I got back to A Son of the Circus by John Irving! I know, it’s been a while. It’s taken me a bit of time to get back into the swing of it and remember everything that’s happening but I’m so excited to be reading it again and I’m really loving it.
A mild step forward Love in the Elephant Tent by Kathleen Cremonesi this week. I plan on going through this slowly so no problem that it’s taking a while.
Things are starting to really ramp up with Career of Evil by Robert Galbraith AKA J.K. Rowling. I hope I can finish this before I head off on vacation because I’ll hate having to leave it behind and not know how it ends for a week!
I was able to transfer Commonwealth by Ann Patchett to my phone easily so I’m working on this as an audiobook now. It was weird going from me ‘reading’ the book in my head to listening to a narrator do it, but I’m over that hump now and still loving this story!
Recently finished: I finished The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde during my run last Thursday and it feels really good to have finished a book! It was really funny and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The review went up on Monday.
Reading Next: So, here’s the thing. I want to take a book or two on vacation with me but I want to take ones that I wouldn’t mind leaving behind. The plan is for them to be sold at used book stores when finished and new ones purchased. This is hard for me because I love keeping all the books I read, even if I don’t like them very much! However, I’m determined not to pay for a lot of bags. I hate to say it, but I likely won’t bring A Son of the Circus because it’s huge and I’m almost done with it. So, I picked out four choices and I want you guys to vote and tell me which to bring!
Leave a comment with your link and a comment (if you’re so inclined). Take a look at the other participant links in the comments and look at what others are reading.
Have any opinions on these choices?
Until next time, write on.
You can follow me on Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram. I’m available via email at SamAStevensWriter@gmail.com. And as always, feel free to leave a comment!
I hope you enjoy whatever you take on vacation, and that you have a great time. Here’s MY WWW POST

I voted for Madam Mao. I haven’t read it but I have seen it on goodreads and I like the premise. It does have mixed reviews but I do hope that you will enjoy it if you end up picking it. Happy vacation and that is a great idea to swap the books during the trip.

I’m afraid I haven’t heard of any of the 4 so can’t really vote (I’d be picking at random) but I hope you enjoy whatever is chosen.
I don’t think I’ve ever gone from reading a book to listening to the audio. I’ve done the reverse and ended up with narrators voice in my head so it must be weird.
Anyway, hope you enjoy your holiday and here’s my www: https://iwuvbooks.wordpress.com/2017/07/19/www-wednesday-19th-july-2017/

I voted Empire Falls. Love your idea about leaving the books behind. I picked up a used copy of “In Cold Blood” en route to the airport in another city, and it became one of my favorite books.
I’ve got a political non-fcition and two mysteries this week.

Picking books to take away is always a challenge. I have to limit myself otherwise I’d pack every book I own! And there’s always the risk that you won’t be in the mood to read the books you do take or won’t enjoy them. It’s times like those where I see the benefits of e-books. I haven’t read any of the books you’re taking so I don’t think I can help there! I hope you enjoy whatever you do take!

So glad you enjoyed The Importance of Being Earnest. Haven’t voted in your holiday reading poll yet because I need to research the titles first. Choosing your holiday read is an important business!

Wednesday is fast becoming my favourite day of the week because I’m always curious about other people’s reading choices (like, ‘they chose that?’ or ‘wow, that looks great’) and it’s a great way to discover new blogs.

OK, I went for Empire Falls on the basis it looks interesting and more people may like it if you’re planning to leave it behind.

I always have trouble letting books go, so I’m honestly not sure which I should tell you to bring and leave behind. I’ve only really done it with collections of excerpts, like a book of Greek texts I didn’t need because I had the complete Herodotus, Thucydides, etc. texts instead. Enjoy your vacation!

On vacation in New Orleans now and my poor copy of A Dog’s Journey will need to stay. The beach and purse have not been very gentle on it. In it’s place I bought a copy of A Confederacy of Dunces from a local used bookstore, so I too can relate to needing to travel light!

I’m not familiar with any of your choices so I rolled a 4-sided die to decide which one to pick. I hope you enjoy whichever one(s) you take!
I’ve never gone from one format to another with a book – other than physical to e-pub – so I can only imagine how it must feel to go from reading to audio. I’m glad you were able to make the adjustment.
