Welcome to WWW Wednesday! This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived here on Taking on a World of Words. Just answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses. Please, take some time to visit the other participants and see what others are reading. So, let’s get to it!
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
Note: For users of Blogspot blogs, I’m unable to comment on your posts as a WordPress blogger unless you’ve enabled Name/URL comments. This is a known WordPress/Blogspot issue. Please consider enabling this to participate more fully in the community.
Currently reading: I’m happy with how far I’ve come int Eastbound from Flagstaff by Annette Valentine. The story is a little slow for me, but I’m still enjoying it. I like that Simon is living in Detroit during the 20s, definitely a setting for me!
I’ve slowed down a bit with My Drunk Kitchen by Hannah Hart because I’m making work friends that I eat lunch with. It’s a balance between having people to talk to in the office and getting some reading done. I can go back to being anti-social once I have friends to talk to other times in the day.
I’m devouring Caveat Emptor by Ruth Downie with my longer commute. I love this series and I’m looking forward to seeing how this one ends. I have a feeling there’s going to be a big twist! I’m counting on it actually.
Recently finished: Nothing new finished this week. I started doing NaNoWriMo on Friday so that’s taking up quite a bit of time. Reviews may be delayed as well, but WWW Wednesday will not falter! I love hosting this meme too much to let it drop.
Reading Next: I need to make a decision on this one. I think I’ll wait a little bit before pushing to finish my Historical Fiction challenge. I realized I’m done with book club meetings until January and I’ll take this time to tackle some that have been on my TBR for a while. My next audiobook will be The Mortifications by Derek Palacio. I met Palacio at the Midwest Literary Walk in 2017 so this has been here for a while.
Leave a comment with your link and comment (if you’re so inclined). Take a look at the other participant links in the comments and look at what others are reading.
Have any opinions on these choices?
Until next time, write on.
You can follow me on Goodreads, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram. I’m available via email at SamAStevensWriter@gmail.com. And as always, feel free to leave a comment!
I’m working on Nanowrimo, too! Good luck to us both.
This week, I have two separate memoirs involving two women who never expected to be household names but ended up at the center of American history anyway.

I wanted to respond to your post but its blocked to Name/URL entries – you’re not the last person to read/listen to Becoming by Mrs Obama! I’ve been trying to set aside time to listen to this on audiobook – I was initially in queue somewhere between 85 and 99? I might listen to it this Winter via Scribd as I have a trial period right now although it is also avail via my libraries OverDrive’s.. the small bits I heard, I loved! Sometimes I think its just one of those books you dearly want to hear but you don’t want to rush through it – so as life evolves forward you have to wait to settle into it. (at least for me?)
I voted “Interesting” – as that was all I could leave on the post.

Good to know WWW will always continue 😀 It’s my favourite meme as well because I love taking a peek at what others are reading.

Here is my WWWeds for today — I was so ill during October, I’ll trying to sort out where I left off with some of the stories, whilst continuing to move forward with others. It is also #SciFiMonth (this November) and I am excited about that as I’m co-hosting a RAL whilst I am also reading a heap of SF! I’ve been away from my blog and Twitter for almost two weeks and just getting back into the rhythm of blogging has been a bit more difficult than I first thought it would be. Therefore, this post reads more like a personal entry of a frustrated reader than anything else (at least to me?)…

That’s strange – I put the link behind the text – maybe I coded it wrong? It has been a rather late night – try this instead: https://jorielovesastory.com/2019/11/06/wwwwednesday-no-11

It’s always hard to come back after being away. Glad you’re feeling better. Sounds like you have some great plans to move forward so I have no doubt your reading will pick up soon. Happy reading!

Thank you, Sam! I appreciate the encouraging words – it definitely does feel like a hard shift back – however, as you said, I am making it a fun transition for myself by focusing on stories which I think will help jump-start me back into a readerly groove. Likewise, I hope the stories you’ve been reading give you a bit more joy than it sounds like they were at first – I struggle with slow-moving stories as those tend to be my DNFs or I just let them go for now – I love to feel gripped into a plot. Also – have a lovely Nano!

All of your books are new to me but I’m really drawn to Caveat Emptor. Twisty endings are too much fun.
I’m so glad that you won’t be giving up this meme while you participate in NaNoWriMo! I really depend on this to keep me organized and it brings me back to blogging every week – even the ones when I haven’t read!
Lunch buddies are nice. Reading is nice. Such is the conundrum of a new work environment. I hope you find a happy balance!

I love Downie’s series and highly recommend it. The first is Medicus. They’re really funny.
I’m on my own at an event for lunch today so no buddies but probably no reading as well. Happy reading!

I’m glad you found work friends to talk with! But also … I’m torn, because reading > socializing for an introvert like me, because I spend all day at work socializing. xD
Oh noes, the dreaded NaNoWriMo has begun! I mean, clearly, you’re surviving because you posted this. Unless this was a scheduled post. *squinty eyes glares at you* *pokes the monitor* You’re still alive back there, right? This is only the first week, so it’s too early to kick the bucket. How’s it going so far?
Here’s my WWW post.
